On Monday, Leicester Crown Court heard communication data and data retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly requesting Madeleine's mother for a biological test throughout that period.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - when she was three years old during a vacation in Portugal - is among the most publicized missing child cases and is still unsolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

One voicemail, presented in court, captured Ms Wandelt saying: "I understand I'm heavy and unattractive like Madeleine was, but I feel what I believe."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am she? What then? Is that not significant for you?"

"I do not need money, I maintain a life here in Poland, I simply desire to know," the recording stated.

The panel was advised that by means of electronic messages, text messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt requested a genetic test, forwarded youth pictures to her phone in a bid to display a likeness to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and asserted to have "recollections" from a early life with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, an intelligence analyst with law enforcement who gathered the evidence, advised the court there "didn't appear to be any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also communicated with acquaintances of the McCanns, based on the communication logs.

On 9 October 2024, the father responded to a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "the wrong phone."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a voicemail on Mrs McCann's voicemail stating "I will persist and I will prove my position."

The court was informed Mrs Spragg established a association online with Ms Wandelt preceding accompanying her on a visit to the McCanns' residence in Leicestershire in December 2024.

Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had contacted through WhatsApp to Mrs McCann to express the news outlets had depicted Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she deserved to be treated respectfully in the time preceding the trip to Rothley, that area, in December 2024.

The court learned communications between the two accused, in November 2024, discussing trying to obtain Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from cutlery at a eating establishment.

"We must assert ourselves," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the appearance to their house, the defendant sent a text which expressed: "We're currently sitting outside the McCanns' home with our lights out like detectives. I had hoped to do this with another person I didn't imagine I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The trial continues.
