Rob Edwards along with Gary O'Neil represent the early names under consideration to succeed Vitor Pereira as manager of Wolves.

The previous coach was sacked on Sunday after the squad's ten-game without a victory start to the top-flight campaign.

And Edwards and O'Neil - each of whom have previous links to the club - are among the names to be evaluated by the Wolves leadership.

Edwards is presently at Middlesbrough, which would pose a possible hurdle to his hiring at Molineux.

Nevertheless the former Luton manager - who played more than 100 of appearances for Wolves during his playing career - is considered a leading candidate for the position.

The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys backing from the club directors as they start the process of hiring a fresh manager.

O'Neil is also appearing as a surprise candidate, even though he would be a surprising choice considering he was sacked by Wolves in December last year.

The ex- West Ham United midfielder is currently unemployed meaning Wolves would not be required to provide any compensation.
