Paramount Skydance Plans to Remove Around 2,000 American Positions – News

Paramount Skydance will start significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, removing about 2,000 American roles as part of a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn under top executive David Ellison.

The layoffs come after the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August worth $8.4bn.

More global layoffs are expected, as the firm planning to announce full details via its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.

Earlier reports had indicated the firm planned to reduce between 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by early November.

Until December 2024, Paramount retained almost 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

Paramount Skydance did not immediately respond regarding the report.
