Nancy’s Persistent Belief

He remains focused on the fact his team can perform strongly for one half at a time. Indeed, if not for poor finishing they could have been greater than 1-0 up. “I saw enough other than the fact that we missed a second goal,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but I must remain objective.

“The level we had at stages was exceptionally high. That happened. I could not say that if it was untrue. That is the reason, when it comes to wins, I noted this is the same story. Which is why I believe we are really close to getting it right. But for the moment: small things.”

“We produced a lot of encouraging signs that we did, as was the case today. The issue now comes down to sustaining it. My narrative would not be the same. This is why I am convinced we will manage to get back on track.”

Röhl’s Cautious Response

Danny Röhl played down talk of a championship push in spite of what appeared to be a statement victory. “We take it game by game, then we can really build up momentum,” he said. “The faith in the squad is immense.”
